LOVE FROM CLIENTS
The first session is so hard—I won't pretend otherwise. But I was genuinely surprised by how quickly it started helping me. I did EMDR for PTSD after a car accident that left me basically housebound with terror, flashbacks, and unable to leave my house.
In less than five sessions my symptoms were almost completely gone. It honestly felt amazing. I'm working on childhood CPTSD now, and that's been harder because it's not one single event. Even so, I still think it's absolutely worth trying. Go at your own pace, remember you're in control and can stop at any time, and trust that you don't have to rush the process.
EMDR has showed me empathy for myself that I never thought I would have. The intrusive thoughts are less powerful and I’m able to talk about the trauma without (a lot of) distressing symptoms. The memory has not been fully healed yet, but it has shined light on other dark corners that I was trying to hide. I feel more free and in tune with myself.
